About Me

Hi!  My name is Pam Chew and I want to tell you a little about myself.  I have been blessed with a wonderful husband, Dustin. We have been married for 16 years.  He is the Director of Technology for New Castle Community School Corporation and a Pastor at Union Grove Church of the Brethren.

I have also been blessed with three beautiful boys.  Davin is in sixth grade, Dax is in second grade, Daelen is 15 months old. Raising three boys and working full time can be challenging at times, but we manage to do it! Oh, and don’t forget Boomer D. Cat!

In 2005, I graduated from Ball State University with a degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Mathematics.   After graduation, I worked as an assistant at Anderson Elementary. I taught kindergarten at Anderson Elementary during the school year 2006-2007.  I was lucky to find a job closer to home the next year at Western Wayne Elementary. During that school year (2007-2008), I taught 2nd grade. I was then hired at Hagerstown Elementary School and taught 1st grade from 2008-2012.  From 2012-2016, I taught math and science as a Project CHILD teacher to grades K-2. 2016-2017, I went back to having my own classroom again as a 2nd grade teacher. The next year (2017-2018), I went back to kindergarten. And, as luck would have it, I got to move back to my favorite position with my favorite team in 1st grade the next school year (2018-2019). So far, I am staying put!

I love teaching!  I am so thankful to have been blessed with such wonderful classroom kiddos over the years.
